Brian Henderson, a PhD student in the DIT School of Biological Sciences, has won the Regional Final (Dublin County) in Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) competition.
Brian has designed his own patent-pending point of care diagnostics in the area of detection of antibiotic resistance genes in bacteria. He was a participant in the New Frontiers Programme run by DIT Hothouse and has set up his own company BAON Diagnostics.
The IBYE competition promotes entrepreneurship in 18-35 year olds. As a Regional Finalist, Brian will now compete for the title of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur 2017 (IBYE2017) in March 2017.
